There is nothing quite like seeing a picture and having it resonate with you. You remember it. You feel it. I saw a picture by another amazingly talented photographer called The Blissful Maven and I just keep thinking about it. The picture is this beautiful black and white of this guy hugging a girl who is clearly his fiance or wife (you can tell by the big rock on her ring finger). It is simple. Nothing extravagant, but the emotion is just there.
There is something about black and white pictures that takes away all distraction and leaves nothing but pure emotion. Their faces are left perfectly anonymous so all you see is love and lust.
That picture just brings me back to a time when I felt that deep of love for someone . That was over two years ago and I haven't felt it with another since. I'm young, I'll meet someone else no doubt. But there is just something about it. I felt it as soon as I saw it. I didn't have to guess at what it was really about. I didn't have to sit and think. I knew it. I had felt it before and as much as I try to ignore it I want it again.
That is what I want out of my photography. I don't want to take just pretty pictures. I want to make you feel. Bring you back, move you forward. Just feel the raw emotion captured in the image.
So here I am giving you my goal. I want to make you feel something.
Hold me accountable. I'm going to give it my best shot. And if that doesn't work, I'm going to keep doing it until it does.
